Overthinking Is a Terrible Place to Stay, Do This Instead!
(image abov: “Room for Not Knowing” by me:) Prints and more here.
Dear creators of WONDER and MAGIC, thank you for being here! I am grateful for your presence.
Here are my best ideas to help us show up and grow in our lives!
1. Overthinking Is a Terrible Place! Have you been there? Obsessing over a question…should I shouldn’t I? Stay or GO? Say something..DON’T say something.
I can get pretty obsessive sometimes and trpped in overthinking and I love when I discover NEW TOOLS to help myself get clarity around a subject. I want to share this amazing post that has some fabulous prompts for decision making. I used it this week and LOVED IT!. It’s long writing for discernment

2. Boundaries Without END. I continue to grow around boundaries. My workbook is helping lots of people which makes me so happy. And there is MORE!
I listened to a podcast on codependence that was SO GOOD that I had to stop and TAKE NOTES– here is my summary and if you really want to sink your teeth in- have a listen too!
Codependency: Def (best one I know!) It’s when we do something for others that they are fully capable of doing and we feel resentful about it.
Am I codependent? You might be asking….
Questions to help you know if you’ve become codependent with a friend, spouse, adult child or parent…..”Am I belong co-dependent?”
- Who’s working harder? (Emotionally or physically! It should be at least equal)
- What’s my motive? (Am I doing this for me? Is it selfish anxiety? Am I afraid? Or is it out of guilt, shame, embarrassment? Do you need to feel NEEDED? Know your why- if you’re feeling resentful/ Watch out!
- Am I teaching them to fish? Am I empowering this person to become autonomous? Or teaching them to be dependent on me?
4 steps to get unstuck!
- To know that I can’t (really)control others.
- Focus on myself not them- plant my own garden!
- Separate myself — A reminder: what happens to my loved ones is not my responsibility!
- It’s my job to support the relationships but NOT direct or save them. In the end, they must live with their own choices.

3. Quote That Made Me Swoon This Week:
from an interview with Photographer Sally Mann:
“Every day is a perfect day. I am the luckiest person alive. The unmeasurable, incalculable complications of family and property and animals and career are all luxurious complications: I am lucky to have them and they enrich my life, even as they cause me to grind my molars into shards.
I get up early, sometimes too early, sometimes after a night spent in a welter of anxiety and self-recrimination, but always early. I push through my day with the dedication of the peasant worker that I am—my inviolate hour of exercise and a seriously protein-heavy breakfast. After that, always something different: sometimes mind-numbing print production, sometimes computer work, sometimes writing, sometimes farm work. Whatever it is, I go down on my knees, my bony old knees, in gratitude that a) I can still easily go down on them and b) that I have too many goddamn things to do.
What could be luckier?”

4. Why I FEEL GREAT THIS WEEK… This is so obvious and maybe you already know the secret. But, last week I took a week away to visit my sister Maria in Los Angeles and decided to not look at my phone. So I barely peeked at any news and mostly just read great books, walked, talked and was IN REAL LIFE with other humans and doggies. I feel so great this week….more balanced. I am going to return to my phone and social media this week, but I def. will be keeping an eye on how I feel and setting down my phone BEFORE I feel overwhelmed.
We went to a carnival and rode a ride….we both forgot just how terrifying it is to do that – kind of a refreshing near death experiecne! Watch the silly REEL at instagram here.
Much love,
Sarah

“My Favorite Things Matter”
Monoprints
by Sarah Bamford Seidelmann
This special series of monoprints created by Sarah Bamford Seidelmann using a painterly technique on plates with a printing press. Each print is one of a kind and rendered in oil based ink on archival paper. The subject matter she has chosen is reflecting her emotional need, in a world of chaos, to focus and elevate the things that matter most such as: the capacity of the heart, home, wild animal wisdom, kindly dogs, and flowers to name a few.
l’ll have some smaller oils and landscapes too!

The Physician Coaching Summit is a truly heart centered gathering for physicians who coach. Whether you are a newer coach or an experienced one, a coach within an organization or an entrepreneur, certified, or not, you belong here. PCS happens at the optimal intersection of retreat and conference, where collaborative learning is abundant but so is rest and renewal with nourishing food and connection. Some highlights of this year’s Physician Coaching Summit include a full moon Yoga Nidra led by Dr. Rashmi Schramm, a private sound bath, and a very special photographer documenting the event and offering headshot mini sessions for at least the first twenty registered attendees. Details on website. We would love to welcome you.
