Dopamine Hits without a Hangover
Here’s What I am Thinking About This Week…
1. Things to Do When You Need A Dopamine Hit and Don’t Want A Hangover (from mind-numbing substances, inflated Am Ex bills or anything else untoward).
–Listen to this astrology podcast and find out what your sun sign has on offer for you!
-Go walk around the block and let your pelvis lead you- weird I know but notice how it feels!
-Clean out your refrigerator and make it pretty again. (or a drawer, a cabinet or YOUR PURSE!)
-Play my SHAMANIC TRAMPOLINE PLAYLIST and free dance. Better yet…get yourself a trampoline!
-Do a three card spread of past, present and future around an issue that is dear to you! Journal on your results.
–Text three beloveds and let them know (with extreme specificity!) why they are your favorite- the hit will come when they respond!!
-Go to an art museum or art gallery and LOOK:).
-Drip a few drops of your fave essential oil on your dryer balls and put your pajamas in the dryer!
2. Here’s a quick list of media I’ve consumed lately and LOVED. Platonic (Apple TV) with Seth Rogen and Rose Byrne is laugh out loud funny which I can’t say about much TV. The audio book “HEARTBREAK by FLorence WIlliams is a wildly good listen (free with Spotify membership_ – vulnerable, poignancy and FUNNY!
3. The Highest Highs I have Had in 2025 Come from Being In Community. I had heard about an opportunity to volunteer at a food program in my city. I found the opportunity at our United Way Volunteer opportunity site. This led to friendships, picking 50 pounds of grapes on a Sunday, garden planting blitzes and so much more. Part of the pickle our country has gotten into is that we have gotten into silos. Getting out and helping others is a potent medicine. Maybe your community has a United Way volunteer site too? Or maybe you already know exactly who you’d like to reach out to to get started?
Volunteering has brought me JOY + a deeper sense of belonging.
4. Thank you Diane Keaton. Diane’s death caught me off guard. I wasn’t done appreciating her yet. I rewatched Annie Hall last night….her sweetness and innocent honesty resonate. Her independence was also inspiring to me. And her joy in creating homes and a style she loved.
She never married
“It goes back to my mother, because, for me, most everything does,” Keaton explained at the time. “I love my dad, of course—that goes without saying—but she was always there, and he was always working. He was working hard, and he was really interesting. And he loved her, too.”
Keaton, the firstborn of four children, said that observing her mom growing up, she “saw how much she gave up.”
“I mentioned watching her get that crowning glory and being Mrs. Highland Park,” she continued. “After that, we moved down to Santa Ana, and it was over. There was no more trying things out. I feel like she chose family over her dreams. And she was just the best mother, but I think that she is the reason why I didn’t get married.”
“It’s kind of true, you do disappear off the planet if you are a middle-aged woman, but that has some advantages as well. Because too much of my life was spent waiting to be seen. Hoping to be seen, hoping to be picked. Once you realize that you aren’t looked at that way any more, other things start to happen and you have to depend on other things to get by.” – Diane Keaton
I could not agree more! Other things start to happen…and those things are EXTREMELY interesting!
5. A word that I want to discuss: Indifference. Jon Batiste mentioned this word in his life altering concert I attended in St. Paul. It resonated so much as being the cause of all maladies. The opposite of love is not hate—-it is indifference. I have not wanted to look at pain but a friend’s gift lovingly helped me see that I must. This weekend an opportunity to show love…at your local NO KINGS protest. I will be working with my drum at our event to create harmony and a heartbeat for US.
Let’s trade our indifference for WARMTH, friendliness and action.
For the time being, I am only seeing clients virtually. You can always make an appointment for coaching, shamanic healing or a divination session here.
Much love,
Sarah

“My Favorite Things Matter”
Monoprints
by Sarah Bamford Seidelmann
This special series of monoprints created by Sarah Bamford Seidelmann using a painterly technique on plates with a printing press. Each print is one of a kind and rendered in oil based ink on archival paper. The subject matter she has chosen is reflecting her emotional need, in a world of chaos, to focus and elevate the things that matter most such as: the capacity of the heart, home, wild animal wisdom, kindly dogs, and flowers to name a few.

Dreams come true!
