The political violence that occurred in Minnesota last weekend was/is terrifying. I am so grateful for all of the people who were able to show up to the peaceful protests on June 14. Here was our local crew.

As I beat on my big rainbow drum between chants and speeches….I saw a huge tree of life springing from the center of the intersection. It grew each time the crowd connected and cheered.  WOW.  We are powerful together.

4. Anything You Can Do To Get More Comfy with Death Will Make Your LIFE More Alive.  This is just something 15 years of shamanism, my own experiences and the poets have taught me.
This is why I am writing death haikus every single day this summer.
Day 15/100 Last Day on Earth Haikus:

There is a tradition in Japan where masterful spiritual beings write a haiku on the day they die. Some are funny. Some are deep. I thought it would be a good exercise to look back at the day before, as if I had died and ask, “What did I experience or learn on that final day?” This would also cause me to search deeply in my days for what mattered most.

From Wikipedia: They tend to offer a reflection on death—both in general and concerning the imminent death of the author—that is often coupled with a meaningful observation on life. The practice of writing a death poem has its origins in Zen Buddhism. It is a concept or worldview derived from the Buddhist teaching of the three marks of existence (三法印, sanbōin), specifically that the material world is transient and impermanent (無常, mujō), that attachment to it causes suffering(苦, ku), and ultimately all reality is an emptiness or absence of self-nature (空, kū).

5. Just One More! Day 11/100 Yesterday Mark, recently retired, and I cleaned the house together for 5 hours straight. We only fought a little before we started cleaning- 😉then we just got to work!
It feels like a new beginning.
