I painted this when I was broken hearted and in the middle of sorting out my marriage. I had to learn to protect what I loved anew…and that meant my heart among other things. My marriage has since been rebuilt and its one of the greatest gifts in my life.
This painting is also an honoring of artist @emilypowellstudio ‘s incredible art! So much her soul stirring work is about protection of all things precious—-of toast and tea and family and baby tigers! Thank you Emily for your tenacity, your relentless commitment to sharing joy and keeping the inner + outer critics at bay!!
