The Q’ero shamans in Peru refer to mountains as “Apus”. I learned how to befriend specific mountain spirits (Everst, Kailash, Shasta and others) from one of my teachers in Peru. These spirits are so majestic and yet at the same time like wonderful uncles or fathers when I met them. Whenever I am worried about a family or a person, I will ask one of these magnificent and kindly spirits to watch over them. This work is collage and acrylic paint. 20″ x 20″ x 3/4″ 600 US
