Validation for those Outside Norm

I’m married to a FREAK (per the book’s definition) and found this pretty volume an anthem of acceptance for those who look at life a little (or a lot) differently. I appreciated that it’s part personal story & part cheerleading handbook giving the narrator street cred. It couldn’t have been easy for her to leave a successful medical career to go create a new life as a surfing, animal totem-seeking, actively engaged mother. If she can change her whole world that way, I can see the positive in what my spouse brings to our life, too.
