Largesse Exhibition July 2023
This is summer and it’s the season of Largesse. Largesse: def. generosity in bestowing blessings, abundance or gifts upon others. For me, there is one flower that symbolizes this crazy good benevolence and it is the Peony. It’s been a bumper year for these beauties in my gardens, and there is so much more goodness showering down all the time. This exhibition aims to celebrate this blessed GREAT goodness.

I don’t know what I’d do without bears. Grateful for their low hanging bellies, their kindness and the way they contain multitudes of strength and love within them.

I painted this with friends in the public peony garden in my hometown of Duluth, Minnesota. The flowers were sooooo uplifting that day to all the visitors (humans and doggies!) to the garden!

One day while dancing alone in my house this song by Lizzo came on and I burst into tears. Wow! Am I ready? Would I be willing to let love in? YES! I am ready!

Sometimes my mind boggles when I sit with peonies…their blossoms know no bounds or limits and they are so unselfconscious…just blooming with their whole hearts.

There is such an incredible profusion of plants in the summer season and each leaf emits its own song! No wonder I feel better when I spend time near them.

I got to attend a yoga class led by my friend Amanda that was outside by Lake Superior. She spoke this magical phrase twice during class and both times I felt an incredible peace wash over me.
