Studio Sale In Duluth This Week and Tips to Help You Show Up and Grow In Your LIfe
We do not become healers.
We came as healers. We are.
Some of us are still catching up to what we are.
We do not become storytellers.
We came as carriers of the stories that
we and our ancestors actually lived. We are.
Some of us are still catching up to what we are.
We do not become artists. We came as artists. We are.
Some of us are still catching up to what we are.
We do not become writers.. dancers.. musicians.. helpers.. peacemakers. We came as such. We are.
Some of us are still catching up to what we are.
We do not learn to love in this sense. We came as Love. We are Love. Some of us are still catching up to who we truly are.
– Clarissa Pinkola Estes
Here are a few ideas from me to help you show up and grow in your own life!
1. You Have A Gift, Honor It. I ADORE the poem I shared above by Dr. Estes….
I hope that you never forget that….
YOU are a walking talking altar.
Your presence makes all the difference.
Your listening. Your heart. Your art!
To take care of ourselves, sometimes, we need to go out in the world. I am heading to the Minneapolis Institute of Art tomorrow! It always leaves me INSPIRED to create. I like how writer Bianca Bosker suggests we should visit museums.
One: You don’t have to look at everything.
Two: You do have to look at something for at least five minutes.
Three: Don’t you dare lay eyes on the wall text—that is, the paragraph-long explanation pasted on the wall beside many of the artworks.
-Bianca Bosker’s Get The Picture ( A fabulous book if you want to understand the fancy world of ART from the inside!)
How will you tend to your healing and creative gifts this week?
“Fat AND Happy”..$950.00 hit reply to ask for details!
2. Fat AND Happy. This is the title of one of my latest Tiger paintings. I stole the title from artist Ashley Longshore…one of my guiding creative lights. Many of you know that I have been on a journey away from restrictive diets into self-acceptance and well being. I discovered a new podcast this week that Ashley is part of and I think you might like it. It’s called “The Body Collective”- and the first episode covers larger bodies and advocating at the doctors office for yourself.- semiglutides and more!
3. There are So Many Ways to Get Stuck and Not CREATE. There’s perfectionism and getting stuck in endless research about the “best way” to start a blog/become a yoga instructor or create a website or take any meaningful action!)….and one of the sneakiest ways to get stuck is in BANNISTER POLISHING. I oughta know. I share my own experience in this dark valley…
“Something odd happened the summer I went on sabbatical from my medical practice and began to explore writing/life-coaching and a more creative career for myself: I began to think of dinners that my husband Mark might really like to eat and I actually tried to cook them. Also, when Mark would get home at the end of each day, I would laugh awkwardly…” READ THE REST HERE.
4. My Artistic Path. This week a blog was posted about my work and I wanted to share it with you in case it helps you feel inspired!
“Sarah’s journey into the world of art began in a moment of deep personal reflection. “I first began to paint around the time my mom was diagnosed with lung cancer,” she recalls. What started as small watercolor pieces at her kitchen table soon became a source of solace and joy. “When she died in 2020, I felt a surge of permission from her, from the Universe, to spend more of my time making art.” This period marked a pivotal shift in her creative process. Encouraged…” Read the whole beautiful piece here!
5. Quote That stopped me in my tracks:
Live Big. Live Weird. Make Your obituary hard to write! – John Roedel
Thanks! I think I am well on my way!!!:)

The 5 star reviews are rolling in- THANK YOU SO MUCH! I would love a brief review from YOU!!
“[This book] is the most fun I have had reading about the serious topic of boundaries. This book feels like an art festival with quips that made me laugh and examples that I could relate to and questions to ponder over in the workbook section
“The Illustrations ALONE! I love that this is not only doable in a kind-to-oneself way but also full of great design and lush imagery (which I MAY cut out and frame when I’m done completing the exercises if I can bring myself to do so!). It makes it more fun to do and therefore more likely I do the work AND ingest it. It makes it easier to allow in the generous lessons.”
